Catherine Hargreaves

Catherine Mairead Hargreaves was the daughter of Alastair Hargreaves and Siobhan Hargreaves and the twin sister of Charlotte Hargreaves. She and Charlotte were born in April 2007 while their family lived in the Boston area. Catherine lived in Massachusetts until the family relocated to Maryland in summer 2019, when the twins were twelve.

Early Life and Family

Catherine and Charlotte were born after Alastair and Siobhan moved from England to the Boston area in late 2006. Their father was English, and their mother was Irish and originally from Dublin. Catherine’s middle name, Mairead, honored her maternal grandmother.

During Alastair’s February 2011 hospitalization, four-year-old Catherine and Charlotte remained in the care of Lily O’Shea while Siobhan stayed at the hospital. Alastair returned to his Harvard career after recovering, and the family remained in the Boston area until summer 2019.
